2026 Team Preview: Bixby reloads around experienced core for another 6A push
Now in his seventh season, head coach Dean Wilson leans on an experienced core and doubles down on fundamentals, pace of play, and team confidence to smooth over roster turnover [1][3].Bixby comes off a 31–10 campaign and a 6A state semifinal, returning five position players and four pitchers. Barrett Standley (2027, OF), Graham Knight (2026, OF; Cowley CC commit), Nate Gonzalez (2026, INF), John Crosby (2027, INF) and Dax Sullivan (2027, INF) headline the group, with Knight coming off a strong state-tournament showing [3][1].New faces expected to contribute include Jackson Turney (2026, 1B), Cody Young (2026, INF; Cowley CC commit) and Connor Arant (2028, RHP/INF). Departures include Brian Justice (Barton CC), Coen Miller (Coffeyville CC) and Nate Lloyd [3].The blueprint points to a balanced offense with athletic defense and table-setting speed, while a retooled pitching staff must absorb lost innings to keep Bixby firmly in the 6A title conversation [3]. Leadership pillars also emerge in sophomore catcher Brodie Stockard and senior infielder Max Stephens, praised for arm strength, athleticism and steady presence [1].Program pedigree and alumni depth continue to frame the standard for the Spartans in the state’s top class [2].
