Brookfield 12U Softball Team Narrowly Misses District Title
The Brookfield Little League’s 12‑Under softball all‑star team concluded its District 9 championship run with a 5‑3 loss to Western Springs in a closely contested, seven‑inning finale at Ehlert Park on June 30, 2025. The team, representing North Central Little League’s region, had earlier rebounded from an opening‑game defeat via a 17‑0 victory over Riverside and a 6‑3 win against La Grange to reach the title game. Western Springs secured the win in extra innings after a two‑run single, bringing Brookfield’s season to a close. The club’s resilience was noted by manager Andy Righeimer, who emphasized the group’s determination throughout the tournament.
