Burglary hits Jr. Optimist Baseball League in Concord; losses top $15,000
The league reported losses north of $15,000 after burglars forced open storage and targeted key equipment, including a 2016 Arctic Cat ATV, a 2010 utility trailer, a Honda generator, water pumps, a battery charger, a new spare ATV battery, tools, and more. One additional ATV was left behind but vandalized [1].The hit came as JOBL worked to rebuild after leadership changes and COVID interruptions, with spring play having resumed in March 2024. The league turned to the community with a fundraiser and requests for tips to help recover gear and keep the season on track [1]. JOBL remains listed locally with contact information for families looking to support or get involved [2].
