Cal Poly’s Naess Pitches Calming, Simi Valley Softball Recap
Griffin Naess delivered a standout pitching performance, striking out 11 batters and throwing a career‑high 129 pitches over 7⅔ scoreless innings as Cal Poly edged UC San Diego 1‑0 in the opening game of the Big West Championship tournament (mustangnews.net). This result arrives shortly after Simi Valley’s local softball scene saw a notable early result: the Simi Valley Pioneers dropped a close 5‑4 decision to St. Bonaventure, ending their undefeated start to the season (maxpreps.com). West Coast Baseball School would draw regional interest for its potential role in developing local talent amid such competitive youth and collegiate baseball environments.
