Central Coast Phillies launch 18U showcase softball team; tryouts Aug. 2 at Liberty High
Central Coast Phillies have expanded their softball arm with an 18U showcase team for high‑school players, designed to put local athletes in front of college coaches and recruiters, with a four‑event Northern California slate targeted for exposure [6]. The move builds on a softball launch in January 2025 that started with 10U and 12U teams training in Paso Robles [1].Tryouts are set for Saturday, Aug. 2, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., at Liberty High School in Paso Robles; RSVPs and questions can go to showcasephillies@gmail.com, and general inquiries by phone at (805) 835‑5400 [6].Former college pitcher Elise Foster is leading the effort alongside coaches with ties from Paso Robles to Santa Maria, while the program’s younger softball groups continue open workouts [6][1]. For roster and update posts, the club runs a dedicated softball Instagram handle [2]. On the baseball side, the Phillies’ travel teams remain active on Perfect Game circuits with Paso Robles listed as hometown, and recent seasons include a March 26, 2023 championship game vs. the Cannons [3][4][5].
