Chesapeake Baseball: 2014 4A champs, 2017 3A East winners, 2026 form rolling
Chesapeake’s bar for big moments was set at Ripken Stadium. The Cougars took the Maryland 4A state championship with a 2–0 win over Sherwood, powered by senior Drew Spinnenweber’s complete-game one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two RBIs from Chris Ruszin [1].They kept adding hardware, blanking River Hill 5–0 to capture the 3A East region in 2017 and book a return to the state tournament [2].A decade on, the program’s scoreboard still tilts their way. The 2025–26 ledger features a 23–0 rout of Patterson on May 9, 2026, among other results tracked this spring [3], with rankings reflecting where the Cougars stand through June [4].
