East Greenbush Youth Baseball Prepares for Cal Ripken Transition
East Greenbush Babe Ruth is part of a broader youth baseball landscape in the region, with the East Greenbush Castleton Youth Baseball League recently announcing a significant shift. The league’s Board approved transitioning from Little League affiliation to Cal Ripken Baseball, a division of Babe Ruth League, Inc., following the 2026 season. The change aims to advance player development, offer greater flexibility in local competition, and better prepare youth for high school baseball while retaining its commitment to community recreational play. The transition will not affect the 2026 recreational, travel, or All‑Star seasons, which will retain previous structures and schedules. This development may influence programming for the East Greenbush Babe Ruth–associated teams in the region.
