East Meadow HS Proposes Synthetic Turf Upgrade to Baseball Field
The Town of Hempstead has proposed comprehensive upgrades at East Meadow High School, including conversion of the existing baseball field to synthetic turf. The project would feature a multipurpose outfield, updated chain‑link backstops, dugouts, fencing, bleachers, scoreboard, new concrete walkways and field lighting. Additional work involves removal of shrubs along the west side of the current baseball field and reduction of the adjacent parking lot by approximately 20 spaces. The improvements aim to enhance the functionality and durability of the baseball field and surrounding athletic facilities, pending environmental review. The project site is located within the Town of Hempstead jurisdiction in Nassau County, New York.
