Edgewater Castle FC Expands Regional Soccer Presence
Edgewater Castle FC, a semi‑professional soccer club in Chicago, continues to build its profile ahead of the 2026 season. The club, known as ECFC, will join both USL League Two and the USL W League in 2026, reflecting its growth and broader commitment to accessible football in the region. Founded in 2017, the club operates under a “Soccer For All” model, offering free youth programming and serving immigrant and low‑income communities via the Edgewater Castle Football Foundation. Its women’s team notably captured the United Women’s Soccer National Championship in 2025. These developments affirm the club’s increasing role in Chicago’s soccer landscape. The club’s evolution may offer inspiration and context for local organizations like the Chicago Rush soccer club operating in Des Plaines and surrounding areas.
