Elk Grove finished the job in a tight final, beating Rodriguez 5-4 to claim the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II championship [2][3]. The victory delivers a record 12th section banner for the Thundering Herd, underscoring the program’s enduring standard in the region [1].

The title caps a spring that kept Elk Grove among the Sacramento area’s top high school baseball teams, a position reinforced by late-season rankings and their postseason run [4].
