Freeway Golf Course Reopens After Redevelopment; Camberwell Golf Club Resumes Play
Camberwell (Freeway) Golf Course has reopened following significant redevelopment, with the refurbished 18‑hole championship layout now fully operational. The City of Boroondara, in partnership with GreenSpace Management, oversaw extensive renovations across tees, fairways and greens, integrating environmental enhancements including 5,000 native plants and over 100 native trees, as well as recycled rubber cart paths (golf.org.au). The Camberwell Golf Club, founded in 1979 and based at the Freeway Golf Course, continues to conduct its regular weekly competitions—mixed Monday events, ladies midweek play and men’s matches on Thursdays and Saturdays—alongside special events such as the President’s Trophy and Club Championships (freewaygolf.com.au).
