Harris County Youth Football Region Sees Soccer Program Growth
Harris County Youth Football’s regional community continues to benefit from broader developments in youth soccer across the area. The Harris County Recreation Department recently completed a year‐end recreation report showing a decline of 18.3 percent in youth soccer participation for both seasons compared to 2024, although soccer remains among several core sports offered to local youth alongside basketball, baseball, flag football and others (harriscountyga.gov). Meanwhile, Houston Parks and Recreation is ramping up soccer activity by seeking sponsors and teams for upcoming tournaments—the H‑Town Soccer Tournament scheduled for November 28–30, 2025, and the Legacy Cup slated for May 2026—with proceeds supporting youth programs such as Soccer for Success and H‑Town Soccer Academy (houstontx.gov).
