Indoor Football Returns to Albuquerque as Chupacabras Prepare for 2026 Season
The New Mexico Chupacabras, formerly the Duke City Gladiators, are set to resume play in Albuquerque with their return to Tingley Coliseum for the 2026 season. The team, which earned back-to-back league championships in 2018 and 2019 while still under their previous name, brings professional indoor football back to the city (en.wikipedia.org). The club's rebranding was formally announced in August 2025, marking its transformation into the Chupacabras and reaffirming its commitment to the local community (en.wikipedia.org). This resurgence offers renewed momentum for indoor football in the region as the team prepares for its upcoming campaign.
