Lynchburg Hillcats Rebrand Ahead of 2026 Season
The Lynchburg Hillcats have officially rebranded as the Hill City Howlers in preparation for the 2026 Carolina League season, remaining the Single‑A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The name change, announced in February 2026, introduces a new mascot and identity aimed at energizing the local community. Concurrently, the club, still commonly referred to as the Hillcats, has begun a multiyear renovation of its historic home, City Stadium, partnering with the city of Lynchburg to upgrade fan amenities. The rebranded team is set to debut as the Hill City Howlers on April 2, 2026, with a home opener scheduled for April 7.
