Mariners punch ticket to Division 3 state final after 8-5 win over Olivet
Marine City earned its shot at hardware, taking down Olivet 8-5 to advance to the Division 3 state title game [2]. The final is set against Traverse City St. Francis at Michigan State University, with first pitch slated for 9 a.m. and the broadcast available on the NFHS Network [2].The Mariners have been sharpening their edge down the stretch, recently splitting a twin bill — a 6-3 setback to Richmond followed by a 1-0 bounce-back over Coloma — as the pitching and defense tightened for the postseason push [1].With a place in the finale secured and the matchup locked in, Marine City heads to East Lansing with momentum — and a clear target — in the program’s biggest stage of the year [2].
