Newton rebuilt the diamond after the tornado — and fans can stream Cardinals ball all summer
The March 5 tornado outbreak badly damaged Newton High’s baseball field, but the program and community pushed through repairs to be ready for the season opener [1][2].For fans following along from around town or on the road, both Cardinals baseball and softball are streaming live and on demand on the NFHS Network’s Newton pages [3][4].On the diamond, the softball side recently rolled past Des Moines East, 12–2, a snapshot of the club’s momentum in June results [5]. Full‑game replays are popping up as well, including a Newton–Indianola matchup available to watch back in full [6].
