Northwest Diamond Sports grows Tualatin baseball and softball with year-round academy program
Northwest Diamond Sports has become a steady pathway in Tualatin for families seeking real reps and reliable coaching. The club fields youth baseball and softball academy teams across multiple age groups, backed by full-time staff and named coaches, and sends squads into regional tournaments and showcases [1][3]. Perfect Game currently lists nine NWDS teams across age brackets [3].The Academy’s development model blends classroom sessions with new training technology, multi-position instruction, and added strength/conditioning and SAQ work [5]. Annual tryouts each August feature age-group time slots at local fields, with immediate roster offers for some players and depth-chart placement for others; individual and small-group evaluations are also available [5].Once teams are formed, groups practice two to three times per week starting in January, split between indoor and outdoor work, mix in preseason training and scrimmages, and typically play seven to ten tournaments with a target of 40-plus games in a season [5]. Uniforms and gear come through a DeMarini/Wilson partnership [5]. The program is led by experienced staff that includes Jose Cepeda, cited as a former major-league player and scout [5].NWDS keeps families up to date with team news and tournament results on its Facebook page [2]. The club is also listed on third-party youth baseball platforms, including Perfect Game and NationalPID, widening its footprint for player exposure [3][4]. It is listed on Crunchbase as a private youth baseball and softball organization based in Tualatin [6].
