Pigtown facility becomes The Diamond Collective after $1.25M sale; SSK Baseball deal signed
The Pigtown indoor baseball facility at 1205 S. Carey St. has a new name and a bigger mission. After a $1.25 million sale to Ashref Elshazli and Ckori Jones of BroCAR Properties, the building is being operated as The Diamond Collective, a campus-style home for local nonprofits that keeps longtime tenant BUBA in place [2][3].The 20,000-square-foot site already features six batting cages, two HitTrax units, pitchers’ mounds, a turf multipurpose area, a stretching room, a dugout, and a coaches’ office, with plans for a fitness center and additional recreation space. The buildout includes “The Lab,” a classroom/study/boardroom area for workforce development and leadership programs, plus a Jackie Robinson mural on Ward St.; the Tony Gwynn Legacy East Foundation is among the confirmed partners [3]. BUBA, founded in 2016 and serving more than 350 Baltimore youth, remains a primary tenant as the Collective grows both player development and academic/career support [3].The project added another on-field pillar in June 2026 with a new deal signed with SSK Baseball, strengthening the Collective’s equipment and training ecosystem [1].
