Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp

The Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp enter the 2026 Prospect League season as defending champions following their sweep of the Terre Haute Rex in the 2024 league championship series ([en.wikipedia.org](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Prospect_League_season?utm_source=openai)). The collegiate summer baseball team plays home games at Schweickert Stadium in Peru, Illinois, the facility having undergone notable enhancements including a larger grandstand and press box constructed in spring 2023 ([peru.il.us](https://www.peru.il.us/residents/parks-recreation-special-events-2/things-to-do/illinois-valley-pistol-shrimp?utm_source=openai)). With a record of 160‑134 through the 2024 season and multiple postseason appearances, the club—including Manager John Jakiemiec—continues to build on recent success in the competitive Western Conference – Northwest Division ([prospectleague.prestosports.com](https://prospectleague.prestosports.com/Content/Team_Info_Pages/shrimp?utm_source=openai)).
