SFA Baseball Advances Deep in Southland Tournament
Stephen F. Austin’s baseball program, playing at the SFA Baseball Complex in Nacogdoches, pushed further into the 2026 Southland Conference Baseball Championship with consecutive upset wins in Beaumont. The Lumberjacks blanked Lamar 2‑0 in their tournament opener behind dominant pitching from Cody Templeton and a three‑inning closing effort from Reid Bowyer, supported offensively by Josh Ibe’s solo home run and an RBI from Ethan Pena (southland.org). SFA then defeated Northwestern State 6‑4, overcoming a mid‑game deficit with a four‑run fourth inning behind multiple hits from Julian Swift and key RBIs from Mark Henning (southland.org). The team remains unbeaten in the Beaumont bracket and lies one win from the championship series.
