SFA Baseball Makes Postseason Surge at Southland Championship
Stephen F. Austin made a strong showing at the 2026 Southland Baseball Championship, advancing within one win of the championship series. At the Beaumont Bracket, the Lumberjacks blanked sixth-seed Northwestern State 6–4, overcoming a 4–1 deficit with a four-run fourth inning highlighted by a three-hit effort from Julian Swift and RBI contributions from Mark Henning and Ethan Pena (southland.org). They also secured a 2–0 shutout victory over No. 2 Lamar behind Josh Ibe’s solo home run and a combined effort from Cody Templeton and Reid Bowyer on the mound (southland.org). The SFA Baseball Complex continues to serve as a hub for the team’s regional development and postseason success.
