Sharks Seek Host Families Ahead of 2025 Season
The Wilmington Sharks are actively recruiting host families to support their 2025 summer collegiate baseball season. The team currently faces a shortage of approximately five host households for out‑of‑town players, with General Manager Brett Bloomquist noting that without sufficient housing, the club may be forced to release players. Host families provide essential services including a place to sleep, laundry access, and meals, while often forming lasting relationships with the players. These arrangements are considered vital to the club’s functioning. Opening Day is scheduled for May 29. The appeal underscores the team’s reliance on community support to field a full roster and sustain operations through the season.
