Southside Lions Pony Baseball League, a 501(c)(3), rooted at Southside Lions Park
The Southside Lions Pony Baseball League operates as a 501(c)(3) public charity in San Antonio, providing a structured home for youth baseball on the South Side. [1] Its footprint is tied to Southside Lions Park, a longstanding community venue for sports and family programs on Hiawatha. [2]The city’s PONY scene has punched above its weight in recent years. A San Antonio PONY team captured a World Series title, a marker of the talent being developed on local diamonds. [4] Another S.A. squad rallied community support in its bid to reach the World Series, underscoring how youth baseball brings the South Side together. [3]For families around the South Side, the Lions’ setup combines a neighborhood ballpark base with an established nonprofit framework — the foundation that keeps kids learning the game and competing season after season.
