Steamwheelers Begin 2026 Season With Road Defeat at Fishers
The Quad City Steamwheelers opened their 2026 Indoor Football League campaign with a 45–27 loss on the road to the Fishers Freight at the Fishers Event Center. Freight quarterback Felix Harper accounted for two receiving touchdowns and added a rushing score, while Steamwheelers signal-caller Daquan Neal delivered four touchdown passes but was hampered by two interceptions. Total offense was nearly even, with Quad City gaining 167 yards to Fishers’ 165, but key late-game defensive breakdowns, including a safety, sealed the result for Fishers. The club now turns its attention to its upcoming home opener, aiming to rebound before a supportive Moline crowd.
