Texas Southern University, in partnership with the Houston Astros Foundation, has commenced construction on new baseball and softball stadiums in the Third Ward area of Houston. The developments, located on a site across from campus at Yates High School, include a baseball stadium with seating for approximately 1,080 fans, including VIP accommodations, and a softball facility seating around 480 spectators. Both venues will feature concession areas, press boxes, locker rooms and lighting for night games. The project, estimated at $7 million to $9 million, is expected to open in spring 2026 and will benefit both TSU teams and Yates High School athletics. While not directly at the Queenston CFSA Baseball Complex, the initiative marks significant local investment in community baseball and softball infrastructure.
