Wind rally past Santa Fe, then blow past North Platte 80s on road swing
July 8 at Clint Lightner Field turned on one explosive frame. Trailing late, Garden City put up five in the bottom of the eighth to edge the Santa Fe Fuego 13–12. Darius Freeman cracked a two-run double, Kaden Kirshenbaum forced in a run after being hit by a pitch, and Barry punched the go-ahead two-run single. Peyton Lewis went 4-for-5, Max Vosters struck out eight over six innings, and Jack Robinson nailed down a scoreless ninth [1].Three nights later in North Platte, the Wind poured it on, scoring in six innings and breaking the game open with a six-run seventh to thump the 80s 14–2. Freeman led the attack at 3-for-6 with a double and three RBIs; Barry tripled among two hits; Connor Huzicka homered and drove in three; and Jaxson Hamada limited the hosts to two runs over seven innings as Garden City improved to 29–8 [2].
