Winter Garden Challenger Division Expands Inclusive Baseball Play
Turf Athletics & Denny Baseball is positioned within a broader baseball landscape in Winter Garden, where adaptive programming continues to evolve. Recent developments include the Winter Garden Little League’s introduction of the Challenger Division, creating opportunities for youth and adults with disabilities to participate in structured baseball environments alongside “buddies” for support. Initiated through community advocacy and approved in 2024, the division held its inaugural season in spring 2026, with opening ceremonies on February 20 and games beginning February 22 (orangeobserver.com). The program reflects a regional emphasis on inclusive access to baseball and complements the presence of local clubs such as Turf Athletics & Denny Baseball, aligning with broader efforts to expand participation in the sport.
